Wednesday in the Word

Ask. Seek. Knock.

A few weeks ago Chad delivered a message over the parable of the friend at midnight in Luke chapter 11. As I know many others did, Autumn and I really took that message to heart, especially concerning our impending new arrival. We had been working at praying with "shameless audacity" (Luke 11:8) about everything concerning the upcoming birth. We prayed for a quick and safe delivery. We prayed for the health of the baby and Autumn. We prayed for discernment about when to leave the house so we could make it to the midwives' on time and not have a roadside delivery in the car!

Then Sunday morning came.

All of our prayers were answered. We had a clear sign that it was time to go. That sign came quite early in the morning, so there were hardly any other cars on the road and we had green lights all the way (one was maybe a little orange). We made it on time! The birth went well and everyone is safe and healthy. And we are so happy, excited and thankful. Praise God!

So, remember to ask, seek and knock (Luke 11:9-10), because God hears and he answers!
