Be Thankful!
November 22, 2023This week, as we celebrate Thanksgiving, we will think back through the year so far and reflect on what we have to be thankful for. Hopefully, many things will come to mind that will give us cause for gratitude. New career opportunities, finally graduating high school, growing families, seeing loved ones we haven't seen in a while; all of these and countless others are wonderful things to be thankful for.
My challenge for us is to remember, as we give thanks, where all of our blessings come from. Be thankful for the breath in your lungs, that God has given you another day. Be thankful for the salvation given to you freely. Praise Him for the work He is doing in your life and in the world.
Show your thankfulness to God by heeding the words of King David, who left no uncertainty about who and what he was thankful for.
Give praise to the Lord, proclaim his name;
make known among the nations what he has done.
Sing to him, sing praise to him;
tell of all his wonderful acts.
Glory in his holy name;
let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.
Look to the Lord and his strength;
seek his face always.
