The recent things happening in Israel are on my mind a lot because I believe that God is very involved and orchestrating what will happen next.

Jeremiah 31:35-36 “This is what the Lord says, he who appoints the sun to shine by day, who decrees the moon and stars to shine at night, who stirs up the sea so that its waves roar – the Lord Almighty is His name. Only if these decrees vanish from my sight, declares the Lord will the descendants of Israel cease to be a nation before me.”

When I read what God says in his word, I take the words literally because I believe there is no other way to take them; it is not symbolic. Reading these verses and hearing the news of what is happening in Israel does not bring fear to my heart, it does bring a lot of sadness because of the intense suffering they are experiencing, but I know that I can depend on our God to be in control even when things appear to be out of control. Ever since Paul & I had the privilege to visit the land of the Bible- Israel, it has become a very special place in my heart, and I cannot help but watch very closely what is happening in this very tiny nation. Recent events also remind me that we need to be watchful. Jesus commanded us to be watchful so that we will be always ready. These kinds of events that are unfolding are a reminder to me to be watchful and look forward to his soon return.
