“Therefore, my friends, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you. Through him everyone who believes is set free from every sin, a justification you were not able to obtain under the law of Moses. Take care that what the prophets have said does not happen to you:

“‘Look, you scoffers,
wonder and perish,
for I am going to do something in your days
that you would never believe,
even if someone told you.’”

-Acts 13:38-41

As we approach Good Friday and Easter Sunday, I want to encourage all of us to really, deeply appreciate the truth of this statement from Paul in Acts 13. God did what He did not have to do. Something that is hard to believe because it is so great and merciful. He gave His son to set us free from every sin. A freedom that we could never obtain through any effort of our own. Through death on the cross and resurrection to new life, Jesus paid our debt and secured our salvation.

You are forgiven, Christian. You are set free!
