Wednesday in the Word

We have a God who sees us. He knows all of us by name.

An example from the Bible is the story of Hagar when she was fleeing from Sarah, who was mistreating her due to her pregnancy. She was lost and afraid in the desert near a spring when the Angel of the Lord found Hagar and said, “Where have you come from and where are you going” (Gen. 16:7-8)? During this stressful and difficult time, her Lord spoke her name and asked her questions. Hagar answered the question by saying, “I’m running away from my mistress, Sarah.” The angel then gave her clear instructions to return to Sarah and submit to her. She was also told that she would have a son and what to name him. Hagar responded by saying, “You are the God who sees me” (Gen. 16-13).

It is so comforting to know that no matter what you are experiencing, God knows your name and sees you. He wants you to know that His eye is on you and will keep you through the decision you need to make or whatever you are facing.
