We Cannot Be Shaken
March 26, 2025Just recently, a satanic group made plans to hold a "black mass" at the Kansas State Capitol. These ceremonies apparently involve breaking a cross and desecrating the Holy Communion. Thankfully, our state lawmakers are working to prevent this from happening, but it serves as yet another reminder of how tremendously broken our world is.
This reminder of our brokenness, though, helped me to find the words of Psalm 125 all the more encouraging this week.
Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion,
which cannot be shaken but endures forever.
As the mountains surround Jerusalem,
so the Lord surrounds his people
both now and forevermore.
-Psalm 125:1-2
Even though our world is broken, we cannot be shaken.
Even though our world is broken, we can endure.
Even though our world is broken, the Lord surrounds his people. Now and forever.
I encourage you this week to take these words to heart. I would also ask you to pray for these lost people, that they might learn to trust in the Lord.
