Where Two or Three Gather
April 19, 2023"For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them." Matthew 18:20
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another – and all the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10:24-25
"Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called. One Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all." Ephesians 4: 3-6
This morning my thoughts are a bit scattered as I begin to write. I first was going to write about Sarah – and how even in unbelief God’s plan prevailed. Even in her disobedience God’s plan prevailed. His compassion was great for Hagar even when Sarah’s was not. His plan prevailed.
I also am thinking about the reason I am studying Sarah is due to the small group of women that I meet with each week. Ladies from church that have become my best friends and my support. Ladies that point me back to God when I begin to doubt. Ladies that pray for me and I pray for them daily! Does a weekly group take work? Yes!! Does it take time? Yes! But is it worth it? YES!
When we gather, God is there, He says so!! We spur each other on in learning more about our Savior – schedules get busy, but we have made it a habit of studying and meeting together; driving ourselves more into God’s word. Most of all, it's teaching us to be more like Jesus – humble – gentle – loving each other beyond our imperfections. Living in peace even where we do not 100% agree with everything, but loving each other and letting God’s plan prevail. Or so we think, but God's plan will prevail regardless.
Today my challenge is to get into God’s word; find a group of people that may become close friends to hold you accountable – to spur you on toward love. You do not have to be perfect for God’s plan to prevail in your life!
